So, what did you notice about them? Did they change your mind after they performed their respective songs?
When most people initially look at both Paul Potts and Susan Boyle, they think don’t fit our societal concept of success, talent, and ability. In fact most people just write them off by their looks alone. It was apparent to me that both lacked any serious confidence at the beginning of their songs. However, as they progressed through their respective song, you could see confidence radiating out from them. I immediately got Lesson #1 from these videos, which was the old adage that “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.”
How many times in a day do you judge people you met for the first time? Even more important, how many times a day do you judge your ability and talent when a “big” idea pop into your consciousness? Do you say, I can’t do that because I am not smart enough; I don’t know the right people; I don’t have the talent; I don’t have the money, etc.?
If you are falling into this trap, you are hindering your success because all opportunities are in other people, so don’t discount them. Secondly, you have the talent to complete any idea that you receive from the Universe; otherwise, the Universe wouldn’t have given it to you in the first place. If you don’t know how to do it, the Universe will send you the right people that will assist you if you are willing to implement the idea.
The second lesson that I learned while watching these videos is that Paul Potts and Susan Boyle had a love and a passion for using their talent. More importantly they have a dream, and they pursuing it. I think that’s a great reminder for each of us to examine what’s going on in our lives. Are you really going for your dreams and are you enjoying the experiences. Believe it or not, you can succeed if you desire it enough and allow the Universe to assist you.
There are many additional lessons that I learned while watch these videos, but I would like to get your thoughts and ideas.
