How To Get Anything You Want in Life What Is Prosperity?
Feb 22

Last night, I attended a dinner party where the conservation was primarily about the economy.  Most of the people were complaining about the decline in the stock market, the bank and housing bailouts, and the increasing unemployment.  I could not believe the negativity I was hearing.  Normally I do engage in any conservations about how “Bad It Is” because I know when there is a breakdown in your life, this means that there is opportunity for a breakthrough to something better.

Furthermore, I choose to focus on what I want in my life because what you focus on expands.

If you or I focus on negative crap, that is what we would get - negative crap.

Therefore, if you focus on “the economy is bad, the economy is bad, and the economy is bad!” guess what you get?

You will attract negative financial experiences that show you the economy is “bad”!

For example, you may get downsized in your job, lose money in your retirement accounts, or if you are in sales, you may not reach your sales goals.

Do you see the correlation between you what you are focusing on and what you experiencing in your life?

In January 2007, I made a decision to quit.

I quit watching news on television, reading the news in the newspaper or online, or listening to it on the radio.  I quit these activities because the news media is a contrived industry that just focuses on the negative events in society.  The news puts thoughts in your mind that makes you worry, fearful, scared and anxious.

The news does not have a commitment to the truth.  The news has a commitment to sensationalism or even manufacturing news events which scares the crap out of people and keeps them glued to the TV.  In fact, there are many people who watch CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, and other networks news shows like it is a religion.

They are inundated with the negative things, like who was murdered, who was raped, how Congress plan to take more money from the rich and give it to the “less fortunate”, why it not fair that CEOs are receiving million dollar bonuses, how company XYZ is laying off five thousand workers, etc.

This is entertainment for many people, but they are unaware that they are being programmed with negative information that impact their thoughts and actions; thus what they experience in their lives.

If you watch or listen to the news, do you think it is an empowering strategy for being prosperous and happy?

When I tell people I don’t watch or listen to the news, they ask how do I know what is going on.  It’s easy; if I need to know about a situation such as a hurricane approaching, the people in my life are happy to share it with me.

If you desire be prosperous and happy, I want you to join me in saying,

I QUIT!

  • I quit buying into news stories written by and for broke people.
  • I quit seeking out validation that life is bad and things aren’t good.
  • I quit talking about or focusing on anything that doesn’t make me feel happy, inspired, or wealthy.
  • I quit listening to radio talk shows where people call in and complain about the politicians or the economy. Have you noticed that complaining hasn’t improved your life?
  • I quit participating in any conservation about how the sky is falling.

Instead, I focus on what I want - being prosperous and being happy.

This is not Polly Anna; it’s a practical way to consciously eliminate negativity from your life.

Have an amazing day!

    Reginald,

My philosophy exactly. I rarely watch the news unless I’m visiting someone who watches it. It’s poison. Much better to watch a comedy or read. The law of attraction works both ways, so why concentrate on negativity? I enjoy your site and articles. Very refreshing. Take care and have a great day.
